Controlling and ensuring uniform thickness is a major quality factor in all extrusion applications.  Tracking defects and deciding to accept or reject sheets or roll portions is also a major quality consideration.  SBI Mechatronik provides accurate Gauging, Control and Inspection systems for extrusion of plastic sheet and film.

 

SBI Mechatronik is headquartered in Hollabrunn, Austria and has numerous installations in the US and Canada and its Sales and Service is provided by ARJ Aux with backup from SBI HQ.

 

ONLINE GAUGING SYSTEMS
Measure thickness of plastic films / sheets using:

-Capacitive
-Laser (Shadow or Triangulation)
-X-Ray (film applications)
-Infrared (barrier layer measurement available)

WEB INSPECTION
Camera based Machine Vision systems to detect and classify defects such as pinholes, fisheyes, streaks, wrinkles, insects, etc.  

-Opaque or transparent sheet / film applications.
-Full reporting, flagging with coordinates and audting.

-Plant computer data share included.

AUTOMATIC DIE BOLT CONTROL
Applications with automatic thickness profile control of extruded sheet and film.  New or Retrofits!

 

-MCAD (Motor Controlled Automatic Die) as shown at K 2022!
*Faster control action than thermal bolt based control systems.
*Less power consumption than thermal bolt systems.
*No manual adjustments - Increases operator safety and reduces downtime.

 

-FRAD (Full Range Automatic Die)
*Automatic die lip gap adjustment.
*Electronic adjustment of all thermal bolts to automatically adjust the die lip gap up to 2 mm.
  (push/pull [faster response]; pull only)
